Dysport
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Boulder, CO

Dysport is an injectable that restores smoother skin and a more youthful-looking appearance by relaxing facial muscles. Repeated facial movements can wear on your skin and cause the development of fine lines, wrinkles, creases, and more. These effects are exacerbated by the natural decline of collagen and elastin, two proteins that maintain skin elasticity, firmness, and overall appearance. With Dysport, you can target dynamic wrinkles and achieve an appearance that matches your inner vitality.

About Dysport
Dysport is a neuromodulator derived from the protein botulinum toxin A. When administered to the facial muscles, it inhibits acetylcholine transmission. Acetylcholine is the neurotransmitter responsible for the repeated muscle movements that lead to the development of creases, wrinkles, fine lines, and other visible signs of aging. (1)
Benefits
Dysport offers several benefits that you can enjoy, including:
- Minimally Invasive Techniques: Dysport is non-surgical in nature, which means that you will not need to worry about any incisions, general anesthesia, or lengthy recovery times.
- Quick Treatment Time: Our team of injection specialists can administer Dysport in less than 30 minutes, making it easy for busier patients to schedule appointments.
- Little-to-No Downtime: You can return to your routine immediately after receiving your injection, making it an ideal rejuvenation solution for those with more proactive schedules.
- Lasting Results: The results of Dysport have been reported to last between 3 and 4 months.
- More Youthful-Looking Skin: This treatment relaxes the facial muscles responsible for the development of facial wrinkles and lines, allowing your skin to return to a smoother state without inhibiting natural expression.
- Elevated Confidence: Addressing your visible signs of aging can help you feel more positively about your appearance and may contribute to a greater sense of self-esteem.
Candidates
You may be a good candidate for Dysport if you are interested in using minimally invasive and non-surgical approaches to reduce visible signs of aging. These include concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, and creases across various regions of the face. You should also be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding the results of your treatment.
Personal Consultation
Before receiving your Dysport injections, we ask that you attend a personal consultation. During this visit, your injection specialist will discuss several topics with you to finalize your candidacy and tailor your treatment plan. They will ask you about your medical history, including any previous treatments you underwent, your medication intake, and any allergies or sensitivities you possess. They will ask you about your aesthetic concerns and goals. They will also perform a physical examination to evaluate your facial anatomy, skin quality, and skin condition.
Your injection specialist will then use this information to create your treatment plan. They will explain how much Dysport they will inject and map out which muscles of the face to target. Depending on your goals, they may also recommend pairing your treatment with another for more comprehensive results. By the end of this meeting, you will not only gain a full understanding of Dysport and how it works, but you will also receive a full treatment plan designed exclusively around your needs.
To schedule this consultation and start working toward refreshing your appearance, contact us online or call our Boulder office at (303) 440-7546.
Preparing for Injectables
Once you have decided to proceed with your treatment, your injection specialist will provide you with a set of preparation instructions. Preparing for Dysport is simple, but we ask that you still follow each direction to optimize your results. They include:
- Ceasing the use of any medications or supplements that may thin your blood
- Avoiding harsh or irritating skin care products that may affect your skin’s barrier function
- Refrain from consuming alcohol in the days before your treatment
- Wear the proper sun protection before your appointment
- Arrive at your appointment with clean skin that you have cleansed of any makeup, skincare products, or facial jewelry.
Dysport Injection Procedure
Upon your arrival, your injection specialist will lead you to a private treatment room. They will answer any remaining questions you may have about your injections before cleansing your skin. They will then use a skin-safe marker to meticulously mark out each injection site.
Your injection specialist will then carefully administer the Dysport formula into the face, targeting the specific muscles causing your frown lines, wrinkles, and creases to form. The injections will relax these muscles and reduce their activity, which will then allow your skin to smooth itself out. Once your injection specialist has administered all of the formula, you will then be free to leave.
What is Recovery Like?
After your Dysport injections, you will be able to return to your normal routine. However, you can expect to experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness around the injection sites. These effects will subside on their own shortly after, but you may also manage them with a cold compress or over-the-counter medications. During this time, you will need to refrain from excessive or direct sun exposure. You will also need to refrain from touching or placing pressure on the treatment area for the first 24 hours.
Your injection specialist will provide you with a set of guidelines to follow after your injections. If any questions arise during this time, our team will be available to provide you with the necessary advice and support.
Results
It may take approximately 2 to 3 days for the results of your treatment to set in. (2) While they will vary depending on the concerns you are correcting, you can expect smoother, more youthful-looking skin as any visible signs of aging are softened and reduced. Because this treatment addresses the dynamic movements of your muscles, you are not only addressing your existing concerns—you are also preventing those that have yet to form if you receive regular treatments. This is also known colloquially as ‘prejuvenation.’
The results of Dysport are long-lasting, with effects that can last between 3 and 4 months. We recommend wearing the proper sun protection and maintaining an effective skincare regimen to preserve your results. After this point, you may return for maintenance injections.
Cost of Dysport in Boulder, Colorado
Our injection specialists tailor each Dysport treatment according to their patient’s goals, anatomy, and concerns, which means the cost of Dysport will vary from patient to patient. Once your injection specialist has met with you to establish each aspect of your treatment plan, they will discuss your financial obligations with you.
FAQ
What concerns can Dysport address?
Dysport can reduce and prevent the appearance of facial wrinkles, creases, and fine lines by targeting the facial muscles responsible for their development.
Is there a difference between Dysport and Botox?
Yes. While both of these treatments are neuromodulators formulated from the same protein, they have different onset times, with the results of Dysport developing more quickly than Botox.
How long will it take for me to see my results?
It typically takes between 2 and 3 days for your results to develop.
Does Dysport offer permanent results?
No, the results of Dysport are not permanent. The effects of your injections will last between 3 and 4 months, depending on your metabolism and where the injections are located. However, you may return for additional treatments to preserve your renewed appearance.
Will I need to undergo multiple Dysport treatments?
Most of our patients only need to undergo one treatment session to achieve satisfying results, but you may need multiple treatment sessions as the results are not permanent. Your injection specialist can discuss your treatment plan with you during your consultation.
How will I know how much Dysport I need?
Attending a consultation is the best way to determine how much Dysport will help you achieve your results. Here, your injection specialist will review your medical history, learn more about your goals, and assess your facial anatomy. They will then use this information to determine the right amount of Dysport to use, as well as where to inject it.
Can I combine my Dysport injections with another treatment?
Yes, you may integrate other treatments alongside your injections for more comprehensive and cohesive results. During your consultation, your injection specialist can provide you with more personalized recommendations based on your desired results.
