About Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a cutting-edge skincare treatment that is designed to enhance the overall condition and appearance of the skin. This treatment combines the cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration of the skin in one appointment, leaving patients with plump, glowing skin. Hydrafacial uses Vortex-Fusion technology™ to clear clogged pores, combining spiral-designed wand tips and gentle vacuum technology for the most effective treatment. Patients often seek this treatment to revive dull, dehydrated skin, diminish visible signs of aging, and combat acne.
Hydrafacial for Acne
Acne is an inflammatory condition that can be caused by various factors such as genetics, hormones, skin products, and more. Acne is estimated to affect 45 million people in the United States alone, with a prevalence of over 90 percent amongst adolescents. With 12-14 percent of these cases persisting through adulthood, patients can be left feeling distressed about the condition of their skin. (1) Hydrafacial is highly effective against acne, addressing breakouts and blemishes through its multi-process treatment that delivers essential antioxidants and hydration to the skin.

Ideal Candidates for Hydrafacial
The ideal candidates for Hydrafacial are both men and women who are interested in enhancing the appearance and texture of their skin. Patients with dull or dehydrated skin may find this procedure highly beneficial. Those with sensitive, acne-prone skin, as well as individuals with enlarged pores, may also be recommended for this treatment. As this treatment is designed for all skin types, most patients can benefit from Hydrafacial, however, our specialist will determine each person’s candidacy at their consultation.
Personal Consultation
Each patient is asked to attend a personal consultation before scheduling their Hydrafacial. Without this meeting, our team will not be able to create each patient’s personalized treatment plan. Our specialist will sit with each patient to discuss the details of their treatment before gathering information on their medical history, treatment goals, and skin concerns. From there, our specialist will craft each patient’s Hydrafacial treatment, tailoring aspects to help maximize each benefit. Preparation and recovery guidelines will also be provided to each patient, along with a written estimate for their treatment plan. We ask that patients prepare questions for their consultation, as this is time dedicated specifically to them and their treatment. Our team wants to ensure each patient feels informed and empowered to make decisions regarding their health and wellness.

Preparation
The specialist will provide a set of preparatory guidelines for each patient at their consultation to help them prepare for their treatment, however, preparation is fairly straightforward. Generally speaking, the use of harsh skincare products such as retinoids or exfoliating acids should be discontinued several days before the appointment, in addition to the use of acne medications. Tanning beds should be avoided for at least 72 hours, and sun protection should be utilized when going outside, as sunburns or damage may cause us to delay the procedure itself. It is also strongly recommended that patients stay well hydrated leading up to their procedure. Any further instructions will be provided by each patient’s specialist.
Procedure
Hydrafacial is a relatively straightforward procedure that is often completed in as little as half an hour. The treatment begins with a gentle cleansing of each patient’s face to remove any oil or debris. The provider will then move a handheld wand across the skin for gentle exfoliation, removing any dead cells from the surface and encouraging healthy skin turnover. (2) They will then apply a chemical peel formula to help loosen debris from the pores before using a gentle extraction device. Finally, the specialist will apply serums, antioxidants, and moisturizers to the skin, nourishing it and infusing it with hydrating elements.
Recovery
Each individual will receive a set of guidelines instructing them on how to best care for their skin after their appointment. Following their treatment, patients will be able to return to their daily schedules as normal. Mild redness and tenderness may be experienced, but these effects will dissipate on their own before long. Patients should continue using a gentle cleanser following their appointment, while also making an active effort to stay hydrated for the best results. Harsh skincare products, such as strong exfoliants or retinoids, should be avoided for several days post-treatment. Additionally, patients should ensure they are protecting their skin when going outside by applying sunscreen daily.
Results
Patients will be able to see the effects of their Hydrafacial immediately following their appointment. (1) Plump, radiant skin will be revealed, along with an overall improvement in texture and tone. The pores will appear smaller, and some patients may also see a reduction in fine lines and creases. Hydrafacial treatments are associated with a very high patient satisfaction rate (2), especially when performed by trained professionals such as the specialists at Aura Advanced Skin Care & Plastic Surgery. The results of each patient’s Hydrafacial can last for up to a week, but patients can experience long-term improvements and benefits with regular, monthly treatments.
Corresponding Procedures
Many procedures can be performed in conjunction with our Hydrafacial for additional benefits, one of the most popular being our IV Vitamin Therapy treatment. Intravenous (IV) therapy is a process that delivers essential vitamins, nutrients, and hydration directly to the bloodstream through an IV line. By bypassing the digestive system, this treatment can instantly hydrate patients. We offer a wide array of infusions to provide patients with different benefits, such as skin rejuvenation, metabolism support, athletic recovery, and more.
